1Who we are
Affine Studio ("Affine", "we", "us") is a web design business run by Kruz Pierce, a sole proprietor in Kelley, Iowa. "You" means the business that asks us for a preview or buys a plan. By saying yes to your site and paying the launch fee, you agree to these terms.
2The free preview
You owe nothing to see your site.
After you answer our questions, we build a preview of your website and send you a private link. The preview is free, with no card and no obligation. If you don't want it, you can walk away. We won't publish a preview or use your business details anywhere else.
3The $250 launch fee
When you say yes, you pay a one-time launch fee of $250. It covers finishing and launching your site and registering your web address (domain) for its first year.
The launch fee is non-refundable once your site is live. If we can't launch your site for a reason on our side, we refund it in full.
4Monthly care plans
First month free, then month to month. No contract.
| Plan | Price | Changes each month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $49 a month | Up to 2 |
| Professional | $79 a month | Up to 5 |
| Complete | $99 a month | Up to 10 |
Your first month of care is free. Your card is charged automatically for your plan 30 days after you pay the launch fee, then every month after that, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
If we ever change our prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change affects you.
5Cancelling
You can cancel anytime, for any reason, with no fee. Use the billing link in your Stripe receipt, or email us and we'll do it for you.
- Your plan runs to the end of the month you've already paid for, then stops.
- We don't refund partial months.
- If you cancel during your free first month, you're never charged a monthly fee.
6What counts as a change
A change is an update to your existing site that takes about 30 minutes or less, like new text, photos, hours, prices or a new service on an existing page. Unused changes don't carry over to the next month.
Bigger work, like new pages or new features, isn't included. We'll always quote it first, and nothing is charged unless you agree.
7Your website is yours
You own your business name, words, logo, photos and web address from day one.
While you're on a plan, we manage your domain and hosting for you. If you cancel, whenever that is, we'll hand your site over:
- We send you your website files within 14 days.
- We transfer your domain to you, or to whoever you choose.
- Hosting through us ends when your last paid month ends.
Some parts of a site, like fonts or open-source code, come with their own licenses. We'll only use parts that you're free to keep using.
8Missed payments
If a monthly payment fails, Stripe retries it and emails you. If it's still unpaid 14 days after it was due, we may pause your site until it's paid. If it's unpaid after 30 days, your plan ends.
Even then, we'll still send you your website files. We transfer your domain once any balance is paid.
9Your part
- Give us accurate information about your business.
- Only send us photos, logos and text you have the right to use.
- You're responsible for what your business offers and claims on your site, and for any licenses your business needs.
10What we can't promise
We set your site up so people can find it on Google, but nobody can guarantee a search ranking or a number of calls. Our hosting providers are very reliable, but outages can happen; when something breaks, we fix it as quickly as we can.
11Limits of our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim related to our work is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like lost profits or lost business.
12Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects active clients in a meaningful way, we'll email you first.
13Iowa law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.
